James MacPherson

James MacPherson is an award-winning* music artist, best known as the singer and guitarist of the CT-based rock band Bonsai Trees. Over the past decade, the band independently released 50+ tracks —including 3 LPs—amassing over 5 million digital streams. 

MacPherson is now launching a bold new solo project under the management of Brooklyn-based music executive Al Smith (Black Eyed Peas, Nirvana, Melvins). In the coming months, MacPherson will debut a full-length LP, unveil a new band lineup, and hit the road for a highly anticipated tour.

Rooted in themes of growth and resilience, MacPherson’s music explores the challenges of mental and physical health, the pain of losing loved ones, and the struggles of addiction. This new work captures the emotional highs and lows of personal transformation—balancing honest, vulnerable lyrics with raw, compelling instrumentation.
